"Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight". Psalm 144:1
Another milestone reached, another goal achieved with the instruction and wisdom of my God and my Lord - The Cross gives me the privilege to show what an amazing God I serve.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,.... James 1:17
The Cross is inspired by God and is a thanks-giving gift for Him for all His blessings and His ceaseless, never-changing love for me. There is nothing in this art work that hasn't been God-inspired, although all the flaws are solely mine. With a heart brimming with gratitude and praise for my creator, I present to you...'The Cross'.
It took me 10 months to complete the piece. Most of the time was spent in getting the design right. Although the outline of the cross and the grape vine were not very difficult, the inside design of the cross took as long as two months to conceptualize. It's amazing how God speaks to us if only we have the will to hear. When I was struggling to get the design He spoke to me through Exodus 36:1.
Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord had commanded.
I used 10 mm quill strips and the usual craft glue to keep it all together. To stick the crystals, I used a stronger hot glue adhesive. All this was done on a 250gsm paper that measured 40X24 inches. After the framing, the art work measures 46X32X3. The framing was done at a local frame-maker shop. It's a plastic frame with a Gold faux finish.
This is my humble gift to the Koramangala Methodist Church, Bangalore. Through this Church, God gave me many privileges which I would have otherwise missed. I made many friends for life and by serving as a Sunday School Teacher for a little over an year, I have been blessed to know many children and their parents. I thank all of them for their love and prayers for me and especially for their appreciation of my work. Once again, I thank Pastor Jonathan and Mrs. Sharon for showcasing my work at KMC on the church's 29th anniversary. I am truly honored.
I thank all my friends who have helped me achieve this, I cannot thank you enough for keeping me and my family in your prayers.
I cannot thank God enough for my family. Guys, it would have been impossible without you.
I continue on my journey to achieve greater things for God .
~Art, undeniably, is conductive to happiness~
